you'll Climb Old Bisbee Without Climbing The Stairs
The Bisbee Downtown Tour by Big Jeep Tours is a private, 90-minute narrated Jeep tour in Bisbee, Arizona, focused on the town’s hilly suburb, Old Bisbee, and its mining history, historic district, architecture, narrow streets, and iconic art.
Led by Travis, a 4th-generation Bisbee local, the mild, pavement-only tour (no off-roading) stays in Old Bisbee. It winds through narrow hillside streets lined with century-old homes, businesses, and stairways, with photo stops at scenic overlooks. You’ll hear stories about copper-boom history, architecture, notable residents, and local ghost lore.
You'll visit the red Light District, the affluent start of Bisbee called Quality Hill, and see Italianate Revival, Art Deco, Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, Gothic Revival, and Renaissance Revival architecture throughout the tour. Two elevated photo stops also provide panoramic views of Tombstone Canyon and the mining valley.

FAQS
Are tours private?
Yes! Every Big Jeep Tour is 100% private — just you, your group, and your local guide. No sharing the Jeep with strangers.
How long is the BISBEE DOWNTOWN TOUR?
90 minutes of pure Old Bisbee magic. That includes plenty of photo stops so you can actually enjoy the views instead of just driving past them.
What makes this tour different from the others?
This one stays right in the heart of Old Bisbee — the narrow winding streets, the impossible hillside neighborhoods, and the Victorian architecture that still feels alive. It’s the perfect “get to know Bisbee” experience without heading out to the mines or Lavender Pit (we save those for our longer tours).
Will we hear any good stories?
Oh yes. Expect tales of rowdy mining days, local legends, and the eccentric artists who turned a ghost-town-in-the-making into one of Arizona’s quirkiest creative havens. Travis doesn’t just drive - he brings the town to life.
Are kids welcome?
Absolutely! Children under 13 ride free, and the tour is family-friendly. Kids usually love the winding streets and the “jeep adventure” vibe.
What happens if it rains or the weather turns?
Rain and cold is no problem - the Jeep is enclosed and comfortable. We only cancel for snow or dangerous ice, which is rare. You’ll be notified as early as possible.
Is this the best tour for first-timers?
Hands down. It’s our most popular introduction to Bisbee. You’ll leave with a real feel for the town’s history, character, and hidden personality - plus insider tips on where to eat, shop, and explore afterward.
Can I customize the tour at all?
We’re pretty flexible. Let us know in advance if you have special interests (photography, architecture, ghost stories, etc.) and Travis will tailor the storytelling and stops where possible.
