After a confrontation with a local union mining club, the Knights vacated the building, which was then taken over by miners until the 1940s. By the 1980s, it was repurposed into an apartment complex. However, in 2015, a renovation project breathed new life into the castle, restoring its 1904 look while maintaining its function as an apartment building.
